The novel will be mailed to you on April 21, 2026!

Pre-order sale numbers are hugely important—they’re the signal to the marketplace that the novel is in demand. Much has happened in our country and across the world since my last newsletter in October. In times like these, it hasn’t always been easy to focus on sentence edits, or to believe they matter to a world in so much pain. 

Yet I’d also like to believe Livonia Chow Mein — a book about cross-racial solidarity, democracy, and the evolution of the American Dream—will be
especially relevant to readers in this moment. I’m so excited to discuss it with you all.
