Friends: today is launch day. After a 12 year gestation period, a baby is born. It wouldn’t be here without its ancestors, its doulas, its many midwives. Thank you.
I’ll be on the Brian Lehrer Show today at 11:10 am—an exciting return for me, as I used to be an intern for the show, monitoring the WNYC call line and escorting guests around the studios. How surreal to now be one of those guests!
Tonight at 7:30 pm, Aisha Abdel Gawad and I will sit down to discuss Livonia Chow Mein at Greenlight Bookstore.
Jason Blitman of The Gays Reading podcast had me on his show last week, and he released our episode this morning.
Last but not least: the WCBS Club Calvi contest.
I was trying not to get my hopes up, but I’m astonished to say that, thanks to all your rigorous voting, Club Calvi has chosen Livonia Chow Mein as its next book club read. Still can’t believe it.
I’ll head to CBS’ studios on Thursday April 30th for an interview with Mary Calvi, to be broadcasted sometime shortly after. I’ll be sure to share a link to the segment, once available.
THANK YOU wonderful community for your endless support!
Abby
